What can hyaluronic acid treat?
It is used to treat wrinkles and expression lines, loss of volume and lack of hydration of the skin. The result depends on the area, the product and each person.
At the initial assessment we review your expectations, your medical history and any medication you take, and we explain whether the treatment is suitable for you, what you can expect and what side effects may appear.
What should I know before an aesthetic treatment?
That every treatment involving needles is a medical act: it requires a prior assessment, clear information about possible side effects and your consent. Tell us about your allergies, your illnesses and any medication you take, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. AEMPS (the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices) points out that hyaluronic acid fillers and injectable hyaluronidase must be administered exclusively by properly qualified doctors with specific training, and advises always asking the professional for information about the product to be used.
A slight redness, swelling or a small bruise in the area for a few days is normal. We explain the aftercare and the signs that mean you should contact us.
Frequently asked questions about aesthetic medicine
Do cosmetic treatments have side effects?
As with any medical procedure, aesthetic treatments can have side effects, which are usually mild and temporary, such as redness, swelling or small bruises. When they are carried out by trained professionals with quality products the risks are minimised, although they never disappear completely. AEMPS (2025) also asks that a centre using hyaluronic acid fillers has hyaluronidase available as a medicine so it can act immediately in case of complications. That is why the prior consultation matters: we assess your case, inform you of the risks and answer any question before starting.
How long do hyaluronic acid and mesotherapy results last?
Duration varies with the patient, the product and the area treated. In general, the effects of hyaluronic acid can last between 6 and 18 months. Mesotherapy usually needs several sessions and maintenance sessions to prolong its benefits. At the assessment we explain what result is reasonable to expect in your case and how often it would be worth repeating.
Are aesthetic medicine treatments painful?
Most aesthetic treatments are very well tolerated. You may feel discomfort or a pinprick during application, but we take measures such as topical anaesthetic to keep you comfortable. After treatment you may notice mild tenderness or swelling in the area for a few days. If pain worries you, mention it at the consultation.
